23" Padouk Drueke Chess Board with 2 1/4" Squares
Few chess boards in America have the history of the Drueke chess boards. These boards are neither veneers nor inlays - they are actual solid blocks of wood made from Padouk and Maple. Additionally, they can be recognized by the signature grooved edging around the playing surface.
Sadly, Drueke has stopped making these chess boards. However, we have been able to comission a limited number of the boards - now completely hand-made, from Bill Drueke himself, grandson of the original. These boards are lovingly hand-crafted in Michigan with the same source materials as the classics.
This Drueke Chess board is 23" x 23" with 2 1/4" squares and is tournament size. This is the same size of the Drueke board used in the famous Kasparov - Deep Blue chess match.
