This is a wonderful chess set, the perfect size for what I was looking for. I can sit it on my lap and review games, studying games from books, and the magnets work exactly as described. You can hold the board at 90 degrees, unside down, whatever, and the pieces stay in place. They are not so strong that moving the pieces require extra effort, they are perfect. The case is a nice addition also. You cant go wrong for the price.
