16" Black and Fossil Marble Chess Board with Fossil Border

These hand-made marble chess boards are ideal for chess enthusiasts that want something unique for their smaller traditional staunton or theme chess pieces. The style is traditional with two marble colors, and each board is hand carved, so no two sets are ever exactly alike. There are a lot of variations in the stone and often have a weathered, rustic appearence. Because of the variation, these boards are not best for perfectionists. These marble sets should be left out on display when possible!

Black Marble ranges from pure black to gray and often will have some variation in color. Fossil is a deep grey color with unique striations, shapes, and visual texture that make a truly unique item where no two pieces are alike. Each marble board has a felted bottom to help protect any surface from scratching. The boards all come in an embossed black leatherette case with two clasps. This stylish design allows ease of storage for the marble chess board if it cannot be left out for use. A useful strip within allows the board to be pulled up and thus easily removed from the case.
