2 1/2" Mini Isle of Lewis Hydrostone Chess Pieces

The Isle of Lewis chess set is perhaps one of the most famous chess items in human history. The pieces this set is based on can be seen in the British Museum in London as well as the Scottish Museum in Edinburgh. This rendition of the set is for smaller boards and features a new piece to represent the rooks while the traditional isle of lewis rook is used for pawns. This change was to adapt the smaller version for ease-of-play.

Hydrostone chess pieces are made from a gypsum specifically developed for figurines, made by US Gypsum. These sets are cast by hand by a Canadian artist and are available in a wide array of colors and designs.

This is a full set of 32 chess pieces. Hand made in Canada. Chess board not included.
