There are mold lines on some of the pieces which is disappointing and the leather bottoms will have to be replaced with felt so they will slide. Overall the men are beautiful. Customer service is first rate.

These pieces are quite substantial and satisfying in the hand, solidly weighted and easy to play with. They look great, too. I wanted wonderful chess pieces to inspire me to play and these do the trick at far less expense than many of the others I'd love to own. The look and feel is as if they're made of heavy ceramic although being resin they must be indestructible. I haven't dropped one to see what actually happens! Due to the finish being so glossy they get smudgy and benefit from wiping with a soft cloth now and then. It was a surprise that even the box they came in was so nice it deserved to be kept. Also, for anyone as sensitive to odors as I am (I hope you aren't!) nothing I've purchased from chessusa has ever come with fragrance/odor issues. I am beyond grateful for this. In a nutshell, this is a great set and well worth buying.
