I was extremely impressed with the chess set! It is definitely high quality and durable for safe travel. i purchased this set for my grandson who is just learning to play chess and is obsessed with wanting to play all the time! This set makes it possible for him to take it along on trip, not lose the pieces and improve his skills regularly.

A substantial, beautifully made set that doesn't skimp on anything. It looks as good as it does in the photos. The pieces have good detailing and a lacquer-like shine. They're easy to move and stay put when the board is turned over. The 8" board is 1/2" thick. It has a nice solid feel. The well-padded travel case is great for storage or stowing in luggage. I ordered the set after seeing a great video review on YouTube. The first set and carrying case, while intact and attractive, had an odd musty smell to it that may have come from its warehouse and which I couldn't remove. I called Quentin at Chess USA and he replaced the set right away The second set is perfect for quick game play, puzzles, etc. The best magnetic set I've ever owned. Very happy customer.

Well made nicely finished. Good India wood carving. Nice size for table next to book or iPad.
