16" Black & Sycamore Chess Board w/ 1 1/2" Squares

Everyone Likes Choice. We sometimes take that philosophy to the extreme by offering hundreds of boards to choose from. Each are unique and there are chess boards that fit virtually any budget.

This chess board features a glossy Black finish with Sycamore white squares in a very clean design. It has a good sized border and a sycamore pinstripe to emphasize the playing surface. Glossy black is obviously quite popular and pairs well with woods such as Ebonized, Ebony, and Cardinal and Crimson Rosewoods found in many Staunton chess pieces. It also matches well with many of the theme chess pieces - both painted and not. These boards are generally better used as a display piece because scratches are much more likely to show up on high gloss boards.

This board has 1 1/2" squares and is well suited to any chessmen ranging from 3" - 3 1/2" tall.
