Ok, so, I'm not sure why I haven't seen any other reviews on this site but I took a chance anyway and I'm happy I did. First, the quality of this set is very high. The pieces are as pictured and both the ebony pieces and boxwood pieces are lovely to the touch. I had read elsewhere on the internet that some people are hesitant of buying sets made in India but the quality of these hasn't suffered in the least. In fact, I am now more inclined to give sets made in India equal consideration. To go with this set, I got the 16" Ebonized Chess Board with 1 3/4" Square - Executive Style and they look absolutely beautiful together. This combination would make a wonderful graduation or wedding gift. I got this for myself as a reward for some very hard work over the last year and as a way to help my 3-year-old to develop an appreciation for the history and depth of the game. He and I were playing on a little plastic set which is a good staring point for a toddler, but stepping up has proven fine. I've been able to use the set to teach him respect for nice things and being gentle so he does't scratch the board or damage the pieces. These pieces are beautiful and classic. They are bound to elicit a "wow" from anyone, chess player or not. Also, in terms of the company, my set arrived within just a couple of days and everything was packed safely. I'd definitely return here for future chess purchases.
