Marble Chess Sets

The Marble Chess Set has been a mainstay for decorative and display chess design for decades. One of the main reasons for this is that almost all of our marble chess sets are hand-carved and no two are exactly the same. Further, because the pieces look traditional, they are a fantastic gift for a chess enthusiast who you want to give a nice, unique chess item (who likewise is not interested in a theme or non-traditional option) or even someone who does not play chess, as they look great on display. Indeed, these sorts of items are often used as decoration for a home in the same way that sculpture or art would.

The downside to marble is that it is extremely fragile. While you can play with these chessmen, please keep in mind that stone falling from any height has some risk. It is best used as the set you only bring out for a special occasion to play with as opposed to a go-to set to play with each night. Marble sets are display first, and playable second!
