15" Ebonized French Staunton Chess Set with Storage Chess Board

The pieces to this chess set are the 3" Ebonized French Staunton design. The classic french design is a very popular style known for its slick edging and similarity in design to the popular plastic chessmen seen in tournaments. While very nicely carved, the pieces are extremely durable and playable - so you do not need to be afraid to play with this set daily.

Ebonized Chess Pieces are actually Boxwood pieces lacquered black, giving them a pure black appearance and boxwood chessmen are the near universal standard for 'white' chess pieces in hand-carved sets.

The set includes our popular Macassar and maple storage chess board with drawers. The two felt-lined pull out drawers fit the pieces well, and the handsome, dark woods make it an elegent piece for any display.
