Chess Assistant Nalimov Endgame CD Collection Mini-Review

Not to be left out of the race, Convekta, manufacturers of Chess Assistant, recently released their own collection of tablebase CDs. Since I already had a reasonable discussion of tablebases in my Chessbase Endgame Turbo Review, I will not discuss the importance of these files.

The Convekta Nalimov tablebase collection comes in two flavors - a four CD set containing all the three/four piece tablebases plus the following five piece endgames:

BN-Q NN-P NN-Q NP-N PP-B PP-P QB-Q QN-Q QP-Q RN-R	BB-Q BN-B BN-N BP-B NN-R RB-R RN-Q RP-B RP-Q	BB-B BB-N BP-P BP-R NN-B NN-N NP-B NP-R PP-Q RP-R	BP-N NP-P PP-N PP-R RB-Q RP-N

And a nine CD set containing five additional CDs full of five-piece endgames.

There is also a setup program for automatically registering the tablebases within Chess Assistant (thus making them available to the tablebase engine and Tiger 14/Gambit 2).
